Britney Spears’ lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, is no longer representing the pop star after bringing her conservatorship case to a close, Page Six can confirm.

“Our goal together was always to suspend her father and restore her fundamental rights and civil liberties, and I will always be extremely proud of our work together,” the powerhouse litigator tells us.

The news comes after Spears, 42, reached a settlement with her estranged father, Jamie Spears, in April that allowed the pair to end their lengthy legal battle without going to trial.

“As she desired, her freedom now includes that she will no longer need to attend or be involved with court or entangled with legal proceedings in this matter,” Rosengart said in a statement at the time.

Thirteen years into her controversial conservatorship, Britney replaced her court-appointed lawyer, Samuel D. Ingham III, with Rosengart in July 2021 after speaking out about her “abusive” situation for the first time publicly.

The former federal prosecutor helped free the “Toxic” singer from her conservatorship within a matter of months, first by having Jamie, 71, suspended from controlling his daughter’s personal and financial affairs in September 2021 and then by getting the arrangement terminated altogether that November.

In the months and years that followed, Rosengart was instrumental in securing a number of lucrative deals for Britney, most notably her memoir, “The Woman in Me,” which hit stores in October 2023 and instantly became a New York Times bestseller.

The Grammy winner candidly wrote in the book that the legal eagle was the first person to inform her about the Los Angeles court system granting her long-awaited freedom.

“Even though it was his strategy that had gotten us the victory, he told me that I deserved the credit for what had happened,” she recalled.

The Grammy winner has said Rosengart told her she “helped other people in unfair conservatorships.” AP

“He said that by giving my testimony, I’d freed myself and probably also helped other people in unfair conservatorships. After having my father take credit for everything I did for so long, it meant everything to have this man tell me that I’d made the difference in my own life.”

More recently, Rosengart worked closely with another high-powered attorney, Laura Wasser, to settle Britney’s divorce from her third husband, Sam Asghari.

The former couple had been together since 2016 but married for only a year.
