Diddy Jailed and a sense of extreme reversal of fortune right now: imprisoned in a federal penitentiary full of well-known celebrities, but also about as far from the lap of luxury as the troubled mogul’s been in at least 30 years.

Following the judge’s decision to hold Diddy without bail, the government sent him outside the Lower Manhattan federal courthouse and headed to Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, a jail infamous for its cruel, occasionally lethal circumstances.

Several celebrities like R. Kelly, Fetty Wap, Michael Cohen, Allison Mack and Ghislaine Maxwell have temporarily resided at MDC Brooklyn in recent years. Diddy will now be adjusting to his new environment, a shockingly different from his Miami and L.A. mansion way of life.

Federal justices have denounced the Bureau of Prisons for allegedly cruel treatment of their inmates, and back in June one inmate was killed there. And then there is the cuisine.

Dinner options on MDC’s food plan are turkey roast or tofu with rice, boiling potatoes, beets and whole wheat bread with a beverage; certainly as hell isn’t a good Italian wine. It’s a far cry from Diddy’s usual diet, which we have heard usually consists of duck, steak, organic vegetables, shrimp, salmon, crab and cheese platters. Beets… that’s almost as hard an introduction to jail life as you could find. At least generally from the menu.
