John Stamos shares rare photo of ‘Full House’ cast with Mary Kate, Ashley Olsen in Bob Saget birthday tribute
John Stamos honored Bob Saget on what would have been his 68th birthday with a rare photo of the entire “Full House” cast — including Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.
The actor, who played Jesse Katsopolis on the hit show, took to Instagram Friday to send his late co-star and friend some love with a black-and-white photo taken of himself, the Olsen twins, Dave Coulier, Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, Scott Weinger and the series creator, Jeff Franklin.
The group posed behind a giant statue of Dumbo, with the 37-year-old Olsen twins grinning on either side of Coulier, 64.

“This was taken as we gathered for his funeral,” Stamos, 60, wrote in the lengthy caption. “Though Bob wasn’t there physically, his spirit was unmistakably present, wrapping us in warmth and shared memories that drew both laughter and tears”
“That day, each of us felt the weight of his absence and the strength of the bond he nurtured among us,” he continued.
“Bob was the heart of our ‘Full House’ family. His legacy of kindness and compassion was evident in the faces around me, (on Dumbo) in the gentle ways we supported one another, echoing the love he always extended. We celebrated a life that was a true gift to us all.”

While the Olsen twins did not always gather for cast reunions and declined to join the “Full House” reboot after stepping away from acting in the mid-2000s, they stayed in touch with Saget over the years.
Saget was last seen publicly with Ashley in 2017 when she attended his “Cool Comedy Hot Cuisine” special, which benefitted scleroderma research. Both Ashley and Mary-Kate supported their on-screen father at comedy shows in 2009 and 2010.
The Row founders shared how heartbroken they were over Saget’s shocking death in January 2022.

“Bob was the most loving, compassionate and generous man,” they began in an exclusive statement to Page Six. “We are deeply saddened that he is no longer with us but know that he will continue to be by our side to guide us as gracefully as he always has.”
In October 2023, Stamos revealed the sweet words the famous twins shared with their “Full House” co-stars at Saget’s funeral.
“They got us all together and said, ‘We love you. We loved our childhood. We’re grateful for you guys, we thank you for making those eight years so beautiful for us. We have such fond memories,’” he recalled on SiriusXM’s “The Howard Stern Show.”

“And everyone just needed to hear that,” he added.
Saget died at the age of 65 from unspecified trauma to his head.
“The authorities have determined that Bob passed from head trauma,” his family confirmed to Page Six in a February 2022 statement. “They have concluded that he accidentally hit the back of his head on something, thought nothing of it and went to sleep. No drugs or alcohol were involved.”

During the police investigation that ensued after he was found dead in his Orlando hotel room, showrunner Rosalie Cocci told officers Saget said he didn’t feel well before his comedy show that took place the day before his death.
“I did hear him say, ‘I don’t feel good but I’m ready to do the show. This is what I do this for.’ He seemed to be talking himself up,” she explained in audio obtained by Page Six in March 2022.
She also claimed he was suffering from “long-term COVID.”
