The final performance of Elton John’s career-ending tour is scheduled for Saturday night.

According to his website, the renowned, Grammy-winning musician will allegedly perform on stage in Stockholm, Sweden, for the final time ever as a touring musician.

The British music star commented, “What a journey and memorable tour this has been and now we find ourselves at the end of it,” in the caption of a video he shared to his official Instagram. The final night is tonight.

An excerpt from the musician’s 2018 interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper, during which he announced his decision to stop touring, is included in the video. In the video, John states, “I will no longer be performing and traversing the world.

The “Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour” for the five-time Grammy winner began in 2018, but the Covid-19 outbreak caused it to be delayed until 2021. After more than 50 years of traveling, it has been made known that this is his final run.

According to John’s Instagram video, the tour included more than 300 performances and more than 6 million people from all around the world attended. On his farewell tour, the 76-year-old artist made Glastonbury Festival his final trip in the UK.

In an interview with Cooper in 2018, John explained that his decision to prioritize his family led to his retirement from the touring life. With husband David Furnish, the musician has two boys.

He said to Cooper at the time, “We had children and had changed our life, and in 2015, we sat down with their school calendar and we thought I’m going to miss too much of this.

Even though he had finished touring, he will continued to concentrate on new songs, he stated at the time.
